Abby

Hello CCHS

We just would like to give you an update on Abby (aka Tera). She has come a long way since we adopted her in February 2010. She took a while to settle in to her new home but now is doing awesome. She was 19 pounds when we picked her up and has grown to 28 pounds since then.

She loves to go to the beach in the summer; her favorite things to do there are digging in the sand and running as fast as she can. She also loves to travel, going to visit family all over Wisconsin and Michigan. Now that the snow has fallen, we take her skiing, snowshoeing and she loves to play 'hockey'. She will take the puck and run with it…. Silly Dog.

Merry Christmas and Thanks for all you do!

Ella (aka Cruella)

Ella Bella Panda (formerly Cruella) has three names because she is so special. We adopted Ella in March from the Humane Society. She had the reputation of being rather crabby and unfriendly. She is now the queen of our home and is loving and gentle. She greets everyone at the door and waits to be petted.

Ella never misses a meal and gets rather disgruntled when her food bowl is empty. Unfortunately, she is like Garfield and thinks the word diet is die with a "t".

We are so happy we adopted Ella and hope that others will consider giving a home to an unwanted animal.

Maggie

Hello!

My name is Maggie and I was a kitten at the Copper Country Humane Society in October 1994. I was at the Copper County mall the weekend of Tech's homecoming that year for your adopt-a-thon. That is where my Mom found me. You guys weren't sure about letting her adopt me because she lived down state, in Battle Creek. You were concerned that if she didn't like me I would be in trouble. You made special arrangements with her to bring me back if things didn't work out.

I wanted to write and let you know things worked out great and to thank you for letting Mom adopt me!!! I just celebrated my 16th year with Mom. She brought Dad home 7 years ago and I really like him too. He gives excellent scratches under my chin. Mom is petting me as I type this on Dad's laptop. I am a very vibrant teenage cat, happy and healthy. Mom says I have been a great friend through the years and Dad really didn't like cats much until I won his heart.

Thank you for my great life, for watching out for me when I was tiny, and for trusting your instincts and letting Mom adopt me. You do good work CCHS!

I am attaching some recent pictures of me, Dad got a new phone with a camera! I feel like a movie star with all the flashes going off!

Love,
Maggie

Titan

When we first met Titan, I will be the first to admit I wanted nothing to do with him. I was never a fan of pit bulls and seeing a dog standing in the back of his kennel growling and barking at me didn't help the image. But Patrick had faith that all he needed was a little love and time. So in September 2009, we tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to take him on the first walk. As soon as we got outside, Titan put the brakes on and was like a block of cement going through gravel.

I was ready to call it quits again, but Titan had already stolen Patrick's heart. So we came back again. And again. And again. And over time, we slowly started to see a change. At first it was little things; his tail didn't go quite as far between his legs, he didn't bark quite as much. Every small accomplishment that many people take for granted with their pet were milestones for Titan. A few of the most memorable were the first time eating a treat, the first time we saw his tail wag, and the first time he gave us kisses.

In June 2010, we were finally able to bring Titan home. Since then, we have seen Titan break out of his shell in ways neither of us could have imagined. I look forward to coming home from work every day to see his big pitty smile and a tail that wags so hard it could bruise you. He still has a ways to go but it's hard to believe how far he has come in just a year. He is a complete cuddle bug and wants nothing more than to burrow in your blankets and keep your feet warm. Titan is an incredible intelligent dog and is picking up new tricks every day.

I want to thank everyone that has helped Titan along the way. The staff at the Copper Country Humane Society has been so supportive while he was still at the shelter and even today. We have learned so much from working with Titan and encourage everyone to take a second look at the dogs who need a little more love. Thank you for helping bring such a wonderful dog into our family.

Tinkerbell

Hey CCHS,
I'm Tinkerbell the cute, excited, funny dog, anyway I am doing very good at my new home.
My family love me so much. My faxorit toy is the bumble bee my family bought me it. When I go outside I run right over to the bunnies, once me and the white bunny ( Bling Bling ) touch noses but the brown one (Fisher) is a little scared of me every time I come to say, ' Hi '. He always
runs away in his secrete hiding spot, just to tell you it's in the inside of the house we made them..But I love my new home. I do very good with dogs and some bunnies. Every time I come to see you at Copper Country Humane Society I get so excited I just love comeing to visit yous.
Anyway see you soon.

Zoey (aka Victoria)

Hi CCHS!

Zoey is doing wonderful in her new home. She is especially loving the warm summer weather we are having at my parents house in lower Michigan. She loves car rides and going for long walks in the park in my hometown. She isn't a fan of swimming or any water for that matter. She hates bath time but loves afterwards because she gets a treat! She is very well behaved and settling down into her new home and family. She loves to be outdoors and loves sitting at bonfires. She has even befriended my mom's cats. I have spoiled her to no end and buy her toys and treats alomost everytime I go to the store. What can I say? I can't help myself. I work all day during the summer so my mom (her grandma) watches Zoey for me. Zoey runs to my car the second I arrive home from work which always puts a smile on my face. I can't imagine not having Zoey in my life. She is my best friend and I take her every where with me. I love the companionship and she is truly the joy of my life. Thank you so much for allowing me to give Zoey a new home and thank you for blessing me with an eternal and lifelong friend!

Sincerely,

Hailey and Zoey :)
