Furbie and Babbette

I lost my 17 yr. old Noel Kitty in January, my husband passed away in March, and then two weeks later my 12 yr. old beagle Gabby passed away. Needless to say I was devastated by all this. I still had a 5 yr. old cat, Aggie Mae, at home who was going around meowing and just lifeless. I decided to visit CCHS to see if I could adopt a cat. Aggie Mae has been running our household ever since she arrived so I knew that an older cat might cause some problems. Well, I walked into that cat room and there were two litter mates, 3 months old. I decided to take them both and not break them up. They have made my life and Aggie's busy, never a dull moment, and my house looks like a daycare center for kitten's. I love them so much and what a blessing they are to me. Thank you CCHS for having these two wonderful bundle of joy's there for me to bring home.

Blue AKA Braeburn

My family moved up north to the upper peninsula a few years ago. My husband and I both attend MTU and at the same time we are raising our daughter. She is 5 years old now, and is at that point where she keeps asking mommy and daddy for a brother or sister. Since that's just not in the cards for us right now, we decided to look for a new family member that would be just as permanent and just as loved as well as a companion for my daughter. I spend a large amount of time at home alone, while my daughter is at school, so I knew I would want someone to keep me company too!

That's when we started looking around on the internet for kittens. We couldn't really find any that were a perfect fit for us. I had the idea that we should try CCHS, and we decided to go down there one day and see who we could find. We looked around for about 30 minutes looking for the perfect personality to fit our family. My husband wanted a kitten, and I just wanted someone who would cuddle with my daughter. Then we found Blue. He was sitting on his little chair because he had a "kitty cold". My daughter has a motherly nature about her and was very insistent on taking home this kitten. So we took him home that very day!

These days Blue runs around our house chasing the squirrels (well, he has to "chase" through the sliding glass doors!) and sleeping on my lap while I work on my computer. He sleeps on our bed and keeps guard for us at night. He's such a sweet little kitten I'm so glad that CCHS was there for us when we were looking for a kitten. Blue is perfect for us and we've found the family member we were searching for! It was hard only picking three photos of him, but here are a few. :)
