My family of four adopted Ellie on February 20th and have been in love since. I suggested to my family the option of getting an emotional support dog since we all suffered heavily from depression and anxiety. Our previous methods of therapy and care helped, but we needed an extra boost. Everyone in my family immediately took to the idea of getting a dog. It wasn't hard for me to convince them to go up to the copper country to look at their beagles and basset hounds in order to adopt a shelter pup. Seeing little Ellie's (previously Brandine) face made all of us light up. She was howling her little heart out trying to get our attention and it worked. We played with her for a good ten minutes and I declared we had to adopt her. Since bringing her home, she has become my partner in crime and the most lovable dog I've ever met. She is as quiet as can be, learns very quickly, loves to play (and nap), and she will share her love with whoever she meets (including cats and huge dogs!). I
take Ellie just about everywhere and she adapts very quickly. Ellie simply loves exploring the world with me and I couldn't have chosen a better partner to do it with. The best part of having Ellie is that she truly has helped my family become more positive about life and has influenced us all to be better. She is the sweetest dog ever and she makes me so happy. If she continues to be the good girl she is and proves she can do it, I intend on registering her as a therapy dog for others so that we can visit hospitals and nursing homes so that she can give love to those who need it. We also found out that she was much younger than originally thought which means many more years with her! We are very happy to have Ellie. I was able to save her and in return, she has managed to save me.
