My husband and I recently got married, and decided we would love to have a dog in our life. After almost going through with what turned out to be a scam on Craigslist, we didn't get the Yorkie puppy we thought was for sale. That evening, Dan (my husband) brought me to the Humane Society to check out some dogs. After the scam, and not being able to get my Yorkie, I was a little sad. But nonetheless, we decided to check out what the Shelter had to offer us. Looking around, there were beautiful dogs, but the Yorkie was still on my mind. As I was getting ready to walk out the door with my husband, he quickly suggested taking one of the beagle/basset hound puppies out so we could get to know them. I decided sure, why not? As we approached them, I was already falling in love. There was a brother and sister, both absolutely adorable. Dan and I each took one out, and while getting to know them, fell head over heels for these friendly, loving dogs. We took "Ozzy" (we renamed him Jake) home a
few days later, and he settled right into our lives.
His training has been going extremely well, and we're completely in love with him. I especially love that my husband picked him out! It's been so fun having a little friend around, and one that's so cuddly! Jake takes naps with me during the day, we go for walks together, and I bring him to visit family and friends (EVERYONE loves him).
Jake is more than a dog to me. He's helped me deal with my loneliness and anxiety while my husband is working late nights. He's become so special to me!
Thank you to everyone at the CCHS for allowing us to adopt our beautiful dog!
